HealthCare Ministries is committing the month of March 2010 to sending out medical teams to Haiti to treat the medical needs resulting from the earthquake.  Each week in March a different team will be sent into the country to conduct mobile clinics in six locations around the capital of Port au Prince.  Accompanying the team sent the second week of March will be the superintendent of the Haitian-American AG Fellowship.

HCM’s disaster coordinator, Rick Salvato, says that the teams will be focusing on primary care and rehabilitation for the displaced victims of the earthquake.

HCM hopes to provide a long-term medical presence by partnering with our AG missionaries in country, empowering the local church to continue reaching out and rebuilding their communities, and involving Haitian medical students in the clinic

HCM has already received many donated supplies for this effort and is grateful for the generous response.  However, they still have needs for specific pieces of equipment and supplies, such as blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, cast scissors, cast saws, pulse oximeters, blood glucose test strips, and latex gloves.  Due to the overwhelming response from healthcare providers willing to serve, HCM has already structured many of the teams.

Continue to follow our progress on this site and on our FaceBook page.  If you have medical supplies to donate, please direct your inquiries to director [at] healthcareministries [dot] org.  If you would like to donate funds, go to www.AG.org and click on "Help for Haiti".
