In April, HCM sent a team of eight to conduct a health screening outreach in the Philippines. The team worked with missionary Ruth Clark to minister in two different locations—Barangay Opao and Barangay Greenhills.
The team spent one-on-one time with each patient to assess their health issues and concerns. They also held health education sessions on healthy living tips with the people as they waited in line to be seen at the outreach.
Many people who were seen at the clinic asked if the local church would follow up with them on home visits, which they were happy to do. They also established Bible studies with them, too.
One testimony from this outreach was about a pregnant woman who came to the outreach with high blood pressure. The team was concerned that she and the baby were in danger, so they sent her to a local hospital with the pastor who was volunteering at the outreach. She greatly improved, and the team was grateful she had come to the outreach because it likely saved her life.
Another testimony of a spiritual miracle was that one of the local nurses who had volunteered to help with the clinic accepted Christ as her personal savior on the last day of the outreach.
The team’s missionary host, Ruth Clark, was grateful for the spiritual and physical ministry that took place.
“I know many were helped in not only physical ways, but in spiritual ways. And that is what we desired,” Ruth said.
